How do I keep track of all my passwords?

Great question! With over 50 listing and regional directory sites to list your business with, the task of creating accounts and remembering your login information can be overwhelming! Follow these simple tips to avoid confusion and stay organized.

1. Be consistent.  Use one e-mail address and "username" for every account.

Some websites ask you to enter an email address when signing in.  Others ask for a username.  Either way, you should be consistent on every site.  If your company is "ACME Plubming", then try a username like "acmeplumbing".  

If the username you have chosen is unavailable on a certain website, try a simple variation, such as "acmeplumbing123".  The Web Listings Manager allows you to save your username for each listing site so that you can reference it later.  This w

ay, you can always reference your Web Listings Manager dashboard to find out what you chose.

2. Create 2 passwords.

Why 2 passwords?  Some websites require you to use a "special character" (one of the symbols at the top of your keyboard, such as # or $).  Other websites do not allow you to use a special character.  You should create 2 passwords so that you can work with both websites.

When you create your listings, write "password 1" or "password 2" in the "notes" field on your listing manager page.  This will help you remember which of the two passwords you used on that particular site.

4. Download and install RoboForm

RoboForm is a password management program.  It will allow you to save your login information on every listing site, and bring it back with the click of a button.  It's a great tool, and we highly recommend it.  There is a free version and a paid version.
